The 3-S Programme is the hallmark of our school. They stand for “self-discipline”, “self-directed learning” and “self-efficacy”.
These three goals all focus on “self”—the individual student. It is our belief that a well-educated student will be better able to contribute to a brighter future of our world. Our young people have often been criticized for being over-dependent on their parents, on their teachers to solve their everyday problems and to spoon-feed them with knowledge. Many lack self-discipline, the motivation to study and work and the confidence to do things by themselves. What kind of a world we’ll be living in 20 or 30 years from now, if we continue to educate children in this manner?
At HLC, we go to the core of the problem, prescribing the 3-S Programme as the cure. Here students are taught to respect school rules, to behave themselves, to take responsibility for their studies and to have the courage to express their thoughts and to take the leadership role in programmes.
We welcome children who support our philosophy to join us. With the start of the 2010-11 school year, we shall continue to strengthen our 3-S Programme with the ultimate goal of providing a quality education to our students.
