In order to provide a fun-filled summer holidays for students and to broaden their learning experiences, DSSSC and the Hong Kong Institute of Education(HKIE) are jointly organizing a 6-day and 5-night camping activity entitled "Nurturing Talents in an Asian World City Summer School" , which will include learning and thinking skills, liberal study, fun and games, etc.

The details are as follows:

Date: 4 - 9 July, 2011 (Mon - Sat)
Location: Hong Kong Institute of Education, Tai Po
Fee: HK$2, 800 each student
Grade Level: Form 3 to Form 6
Quota: 80
Application Deadline: 13 May, 2011 (First-come-first-served basis)

香港中文大學｢暑期資優課程｣
香港中文大學教育學院將於 2011年7月16日至8月31日舉辦 ｢暑期資優課程｣，如有興趣的同學，請向陳佩儀老師索取申請表格，截止報名日期為5月4日。

此課程設有獎學金供學生申請。另有1場家長講座向家長介紹香港資優教育的現況和相關資源。

The Hong Kong Scholars Program 2011 (HKSP)

The Program for the Gifted and Talented (PGT) at The CUHK collaborates with The Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education at The University of Iowa to organize The Hong Kong Scholars Program 2011 (HKSP).

For successful applicants, you can be able to:
(a) attend a two-week summer gifted program in July 2011 at The University of Iowa, and
(b) be considered for admission to The University of Iowa for undergraduate studies.

Students participating in the summer gifted program will be considered for admission to The University of Iowa. Students who are selected will return to Hong Kong after the summer gifted program to complete their S.6 study in Hong Kong. After that, they will start their first year undergraduate study at The University of Iowa in the fall of 2012 with guaranteed housing in the Honors Residence Hall for their first year.

The details of the summer gifted program are as follows:
       Date: July 2 – 16, 2011/1/2011
  Venue: The University of Iowa, USA
  Summer Program Fee: US$3,900 including room and board charged by The Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education (air-ticket and other expenses NOT included)

Hong Kong Outstanding Students Awards (香港傑出學生選舉)
If you find you have an outstanding academic results as well as active participation in community services and extra-curricular activities, please refer to the information below:

Eligibility
Students currently enrolling in S.4 to S.6 in Hong Kong are eligible to apply.

Application Procedures
Eligible students can apply for the Award under the Principal's Nomination or Self Nomination scheme. Application form can be downloaded from http://www.youtharch.org.hk .

Application Period
From now until December 18, 2010

Assessment Criteria
Candidates are required to have outstanding academic records as well as active participation in community services and extra-curricular activities. They should have potential to serve as role models to other youths. Applicants with extraordinary talents or achievements will receive special consideration.
