It was full-house in the Hall, packed with parents and students. They came in the evening of Friday, 14 March to learn about the latest developments in the School.
The Principal started with introducing the newly elected PTA Preparatory Committee members, led by its chairperson, Mrs. Eunice Chan. He then went on to explain how the School negotiated with EDB and Pak Kau College on the construction of their new wing at the parking lot. The final solution will allow HLC to keep her existing area and the two schools to be securely fenced off without the need to share facilities.
Another main topic was the new senior secondary school curriculum. The Principal elaborated in detail what factors the School had considered in drawing up the new curriculum. The proposal will allow students to have a wide choice of subjects among arts, science and social science ones. At the same time it offers students a good prospect in entering the universities to pursue advanced studies.
The presentation was followed by questions answered by the Principal and the Vice-principal.
Then came another highlight of the evening—presentation of prizes to outstanding students. The final event was a presentation of the summer study tour to Australia by Australia Education Link.
By then it was already well past 8:30 p.m. but some parents chose to stay to meet the teachers for an exchange on the performance of their students in school.
Thanks to the parents’ support, the evening proved to be a great success.
