To prepare ourselves for the new term, we held a staff retreat for all teachers on 24-25 August 2007 at Breakthrough Youth Village, Shatin. It was a beautiful camp site—serene and spacious with views of the Tolo Harbour. In this secluded and quiet environment, we were able to reflect on what we had done and to plan for our future through talks and discussions. Apart from serious moments, we were able to spare sometime on games for fun and socializing. The Principal led our teachers study the annual school plan and the Vice-principal shared her thoughts on qualities of a professional teacher. It was also our honour to have Ms Lee Tuen Yee, principal of St. Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School, talk to us on gifted education programmes. We left the camp much more energized and a more cohesive team, ready for the challenges ahead.
