On 17 April 2007 we held a staff development day on planning "334", i.e. the new senior secondary structure and changes in curriculum. Our S.1 students will be the first batch of students to benefit from this new system and it is most important that we plan well in advance.
To help our teachers to understand better the overall design of this major education reform, we have invited staff from the Curriculum Development Institute of EMB to come to organize a one-day workshop for us. We were particularly privileged to have Dr. K.K. Chan 陳嘉琪博士, Principal Assistant Secretary (Curriculum Development), to be one of the guest speakers. She talked about the vision of the "334" reform; another two speakers dealt with the topics of Liberal Studies and using resources wisely. The greatest benefit teachers gained was sharing and planning together at the workshop. Many innovative ideas came out. Overall, it was a very successful event.
