In order to celebrate the 2008 Beijing Olympics, our school had a series of celebration activities held in the afternoon on May 2. The objectives of the activities are to show support to the Olympics spirit, and also to raise students’ awareness of national pride.
All the students went to the school hall to watch the live broadcast of torch relay. They also learned about as a Chinese, why and how we should respect our nation. Afterwards, they were given a piece of paper to write down their wishes to the Beijing Olympics. All the papers were then posted up on the notice board so that everyone can share the good wishes. The climax of the celebration activities was the interclass mini-torch relay competition.
Representatives from each class competed with each other by running the fastest while holding the mini-torch created by each class. The classmates showed their support by raising the flags of both Hong Kong and China. The activities concluded with presentation of prizes to the winning classes.

- Most Creative Torch: 1A
