To promote multi-intellectual development, HLC organized a “LEAD (Learning through Engineering, Art and Design) day camp” at the HKFYG LEAD center in Cyber Port. Students were divided into groups to edit computer games, construct motor-powered cars with Lego bricks, and create movable artifacts. During the process, students were able to exhibit their inventiveness and ingenuity.
Apart from the LEAD Day camp, 10 students who have participated in the LEAD projects were selected to join the First LEGO League – an inter-school competition of engineering. Through the process of researching, constructing a robot and software programming, the team has gone through a problem-solving process that involved the development of creativity, teamwork, analytical skills, research skills and self-confidence. Team members have also built up stronger sense of belonging to the School through representing the School in this competition.
