MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Courses, and the three MOOC platforms that HLC recognises are Edx.com, Coursera.org, and FutureLearn.com. HLC encourages students to step out of their comfort zone and exercise their self-directed learning abilities by taking online courses offered by top universities around the world.

Every HLCian is entitled to receive full reimbursements for eight MOOCs in an academic year.  

To apply for reimbursement, the student should send the certificate of completion, receipt, and credit card statement to Mr Jimmy Chan (Gifted Education Coordinator) at phchan@hlc.edu.hk.

The certificate of completion should clearly show the student’s name and the title of the course.

The receipt should clearly show the name of the payer, the amount paid, the title of the course, and the date of purchase.

The credit card statement should clearly show the payer’s name, the amount paid and the date of the transaction for the purchased course (to avoid differences in currency conversion).
